Leather goods made in Melton Mowbray

Mowbray Leather Goods was established in 2011 following the closure of two longstanding belt and leather goods factories. The aim was to continue the skills and traditions built up by experienced leather goods makers over many years.

Today, our factory in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, brings that experience together with contemporary equipment to develop and manufacture bags, belts and small leather goods.

Experience at the workbench

Leather goods manufacture depends on the relationship between material, construction and finish. Our team combines traditional hand skills with practical manufacturing knowledge, considering how a design will be made as well as how it will look.

We continue to develop our methods and capabilities as products and customer requirements change. The aim is to apply that experience to the work in front of us, whether developing a new design or manufacturing an agreed product.

Making for other brands

We make products to our customers’ designs, working with established businesses and smaller independent brands. Our role is to understand the character of each project and help translate it into leather goods that belong in that brand’s collection.

Development and manufacturing are closely connected in our work. Decisions about materials, construction and finishing all contribute to the finished piece.
